It’s Only Temporary

Say this out loud, “It’s only temporary!”  Say it again; this time when real meaning and conviction.  “It’s only temporary!”  I believe you are on board now!  It is not the end of the world, and the war isn’t over…the fat lady isn’t singing…as a matter of fact, she hasn’t even cleared her throat!  The thing that you (or someone you know) are going through is only temporary.  I’m sure it’s an uncomfortable situation, maybe even embarrassing to talk about, or worst, very tragic.  Thought you would never have to go through such an ordeal, (I know…I’ve been there) but now you find yourself on un-chartered terrain.  No matter your current situation, please understand one thing.  This situation… this ugly, gut wrenching, tear jerking time in your life will not be always.  It will pass…The Word of God assures us, it’s only temporary.

God will bring about a change in your life.  He will turn your sorrow into joy!  Understanding this very point is what helps us during our difficult times.  It fuels our determination to simply follow the instructions of the psalmist David, “Wait on God…Be of Good Courage…” knowing that God will (in His time) strengthen our hearts.  No longer do I have to mope around singing “No body knows the troubles I’ve seen…nobody knows my sorrows…”  (Come on now…you know people who do just that…smile)  Now we can go through the situation with a different attitude…an attitude of expectation! This attitude of expectation is one that not only says, “God will bring me out sooner or later.”  (You’re in the ballpark, but in the cheap seats.)

My friend, this attitude declares, “Not only is God going to bring me out right away…but when He brings me out, I’m coming out with joy!  I’m coming out with my hands lifted, a song of praise on my lips, and I might break out in a dance! I’m coming out of this a better person…wiser, stronger…more faithful, prayerful, patience than before.  Most of all I’m coming out of this situation as the victor…and it’s because of Christ!

Let me encourage you today, “Hold on…don’t give in…Morning is on the way!

God is going to bring you out in such a way; you won’t be able to fairly contrast between the two. (Night and Morning)  You see the night, which is your times of trouble, may last quite a while.  But when God brings you out, which is the morning, it clearly makes the night seen as though it were only a fraction of the actual time.  Our Heavenly Father says, “OK…see what my child is going through…I’m ready to bring her out…but I’m not going to just bring her out…I’ll give her double for her trouble!”  That’s awesome!  You see, He’s just that kind of God.  Now that’s joy in the morning!  Are you willing to hold on today?  I’m praying that you will…because it’s only temporary!
